2014 Official Rules

NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR TO WIN. A PURCHASE WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR ODDS OF WINNING. ALL FEDERAL, STATE, LOCAL AND MUNCIPAL LAWS AND REGULATIONS APPLY. VOID WHERE PROHIBITED.

Eligibility.  Subject to the additional restrictions below, The Times of Northwest Indiana – Win A Chevy Cruze! Sweepstakes (the “Sweepstakes”) is open to U.S. residents of IN, IL and MI, who are 18 years or older at the time of entry.  Employees of The Times of Northwest Indiana or Lee Enterprises, Inc., and the immediate family members of, and any persons domiciled with, any such employees, are not eligible to enter or to win.

How To Enter.  The Sweepstakes will begin at 10:01 a.m. (C.S.T.) on Sunday, March 2, 2014 and end at 5 p.m. (C.S.T.) on Saturday, April 26, 2014. (the “Sweepstakes Period”).  To enter to win, you must register online at nwi.com/Cruze with your name, address (city, state, zip), age, daytime telephone and e-mail address. Entries will also be accepted in person by completing an Official Entry Form, available at any office of The Times of Northwest Indiana or participating dealer locations during the Sweepstakes Period with your name, address (city, state, zip), age, daytime telephone and e-mail address. These entries must be placed in The Times of Northwest Indiana – Win A Chevy Cruze! Sweepstakes entry boxes located in any office of The Times of Northwest Indiana or participating dealer locations by 5 p.m. Saturday, April 26, 2014 to be eligible for the Chevy Cruze prize drawing on Thursday, May 1, 2014. Mail entries will not be accepted. Maximum one (1) entry per person.

Sponsor will not be responsible for incomplete, lost, late, or illegible entries.  All entries become property of Sponsor and none will be returned.  Any questions regarding the number of entries submitted shall be determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion, and Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify any entries by persons determined to be tampering with or abusing any aspect of the Sweepstakes.  

Prizes and Odds.  Prize: One (1) Grand Prize Winner will receive a 2014 Chevy Cruze (MSRP: $23,000) that will be selected Wednesday, May 1, 2014.   Odds of winning depend upon number of eligible entries received.

Winner Selection.  The winner will be selected by a random drawing from among all eligible entries to be held at approximately 3:00 p.m. at The Times of Northwest Indiana on Wednesday, May 1, 2014. Entrants need not be present to win. Decisions of judges and Sponsor shall be final and binding in all respects.

Winner Notification and Acceptance.  Winner will be announced at or about 3:01 P.M. on Wednesday, May 1, 2014 at The Times of Northwest Indiana. Entrants need not be present to win. Sponsor will attempt to contact winner via phone or email.  Failure to reach winner via phone or email may result in disqualification of winner, forfeiture of his or her interest in the prize, and selection of a substitute winner from among all remaining eligible entries. To claim prize, winner must personally visit Sponsor’s office at 601 45^th Avenue, Munster, IN 46321 within two (2) business days after notification. Office visits must be between the hours of 9 a.m. (C.S.T.) and 5 p.m. (C.S.T.) weekdays and must present a valid photo identification.  Winner may waive his or her right to receive the prize.  Prize is nonassignable and nontransferable.  No substitutions allowed by winner.  Prize is subject to availability and Sponsor reserves the right to substitute prize of equal or greater value.  Winner is solely responsible for reporting and payment of any taxes on prize.  Winner will be required to complete, sign, notarize and return an affidavit of eligibility/liability and publicity release that he or she has complied with the Official Rules of the Sweepstakes, before the prize will be awarded.  Failure to sign and return the affidavit of release, or to comply with any term or condition of these Official Rules, may result in a winner’s disqualification, the forfeiture of his or her interest in the prize, and the award of the prize to a substitute winner.  Prize winner is responsible for picking up the Prize vehicle at the designated Chevy dealer – Smith Chevrolet, 6405 Indianapolis Blvd., Hammond, IN 46324 within 48 hours of notification. Winner is responsible for all taxes, title, registration and license fees, or other costs associated with transferring the vehicle, and must show proof of insurance at the time of transfer. Under no circumstances will more than one Prize be awarded in this Sweepstakes. Except where prohibited, acceptance of any prize constitutes winner’s consent to the publication of his or her name, biographical information and likeness in any media for any commercial or promotional purpose, without limitation the Internet, or further compensation.  Prize not won and claimed by eligible winners in accordance with these Official Rules will not be awarded and will remain the property of Sponsor. 

Participation.  By participating, entrants agree to be bound by these Official Rules and the decisions of Sponsor.  Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify persons found tampering with or otherwise abusing any aspect of this Sweepstakes as solely determined by Sponsor.  In the event the Sweepstakes is compromised by tampering or other causes beyond the reasonable control of Sponsor which corrupts or impairs the administration, security, fairness or proper operation of the Sweepstakes, Sponsor reserves the right in its sole discretion to suspend, modify or terminate the Sweepstakes.  Should the Sweepstakes be terminated prior to the stated expiration date, Sponsor reserves the right to award prizes based on the entries received before the termination date.

Construction. The invalidity or unenforceability of any provision of these rules shall not affect the validity or enforceability of any other provision.  In the event that any such provision is determined to be invalid or otherwise unenforceable, these rules shall be construed in accordance with their terms as if the invalid or unenforceable provision was not contained therein.

General Release. By entering the Sweepstakes, contestants release The Times of Northwest Indiana, Facebook, Chevrolet Corporation, NW Indiana Chevy Dealers and affiliated companies, directors, officers, employees, representatives, partners, advertising agencies and agents from any liability whatsoever for any claims, costs, injuries, losses or damages of any kind arising out of or in connection with the Sweepstakes or with the acceptance, possession or use of any prize (including, without limitation, claims, costs, injuries, losses or damages related to personal injuries, death, damage to, loss or destruction of property, rights of publicity or privacy, defamation or portrayal in a false light).

Sponsor.   The Times of Northwest Indiana – Win A Chevy Cruze!
